This and That
I've gotten a lot of questions lately in my inbox, and since some of them are the same questions, I decided to add this page to the site to provide answers to those questions.
So, on to the Q&A.

Q: I've heard that some of your characters are based on actual people, is that true?

A: Not exactly, but a lot of my characters do owe some of their personality aspects to people I do know in real life.

Q: What does the "L" in your name stand for?

A: I'll never tell, but I've heard some pretty creative and disturbing guesses :).

Q: I've seen some stuff online that talks about you and each one seems to say something different, which is the right biography?

A: Yeah, that amuses and confuses me too. Basically, only the stuff found on this website was actually written by me, so if you've seen it on another website, it's not something that I either wrote or approved, although I have to say, the site that talks about me being a ninety year old grandmother with a bondage fetish is pretty damned funny. I'm not ninety years old or a grandmother, now the bondage on the other hand.... lol.

Q: Who was your biggest influence?

A: That's a difficult question to answer. I don't really let others influence me, I tend to just charge through life doing as I will. Seriously though, as far as writers that I admire their work, that list is very long but the top of it would have to be (as out of character as it's going to sound) Hemmingway and William Blake. I know, I bet you thought I was going to say Poe or the Marquis De Sade, didn't ya?

Q: Blue hair, Green hair, Blonde hair, what's your real color?

A: Lol, I get it, I change my hair color a lot and usually to colors not found in nature. My natural hair color is black.

Q: I saw you at a covention last year and later wrote you a letter, and thanks for responding by the way, but the letter I got in return sounded a lot different than what I thought you'd be after seeing you at the convention. What are you really like?

A: Wow, loaded question there, and one that's difficult to answer. First let me say that I do not match my packaging. I'll be the first to admit that I look a lot wilder than I am. I only went to one convention last year, so I can imagine what you must have thought lol. The blue hair and leather was a bit on the wild side.
In reality I am pretty normal. I have a "day job" well... night job since I work night shift, two kids and all the mom stuff that goes with it. I am sarcastic, I really can't help it lol. I'm not much of a party person, I'd rather be with small groups of friends than in large crowds. When I'm meeting people for the first time, I tend to stay quiet and observe, so it seems to people that I'm shy, I'm not, I'm just making up my mind whether or not I want to interact with them.
Basically, don't be fooled by the tatoos, peircings and strange hair colors, I'm not as wild as I appear.

Q: How long did it take you to write the Scepter Series?

A: some books took longer than others due to various things that were going on in my life at the time I was working on them. The Demon's Eye took 2 years to write, I was working full time, dealing with some personal issues and basically spent about 2 hours a week working on it.
The Banshee's Song and Destruction of an Innocent were written at the same time and took me 8 months to write. I was still working full time, but had less stress in other areas.
Flight of the Dragon was about a year even though it is shorter than The Banshee's Song. I had a lot of crap going on.
Night's End took about 5 months.

Q: Will there be any more books featuring Talia after Night's End?

A: Yes. I am currently working on a new book that takes place five years after the events of Night's End. It's much darker than the Scepter Series was and Kyle plays a larger role in it. The working title is Demon Fire.

Q: When are Flight of the Dragon and Night's End being released?

A: The edits on them are done, so it will be within the next few months, I'll post release dates when they become available.

Q: Do you think you'll ever write a straight out romance novel?

A: No. I don't have a problem with the genre, but it's just not my cup of tea.

Q: There's so much violence in your books, how do you personally feel about violence?

A: How to answer that one? Well, you did ask lol.
Violence should be a last resort. I'm not going to lie and say that I think there's never a reason for violence. I do think that there are times when you can not solve a situation through talking, but I firmly believe that one should try to talk it out first. If given no other option, then you do what you have to do to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Q: How old are you?

A: I am certainly old enough to know better than to answer that question :)

Q: I read somewhere that you live in a small town in Tennessee, do you ever think about moving from there to a bigger city?

A: No. I don't like living in big cities, I prefer places that are out of the way and where I can have my privacy. To be honest, my dream house would be out in the middle of nowhere, a place where my nearest neighbor would be around six miles away. Yeah, I do have a bit of a hermit side to me.

Q: Why don't you ever put up pictures of your kids?

A: Because I don't feel that it's safe to plaster the internet with pictures of your kids. That's just how I feel on the matter. I'm not saying it's wrong to do so, just that it's not something I'm comfortable with. My children are my pride and joy, their safety comes before all else.

Q: Why do you rarely update your blog?

A: Mostly because I forget about it on most days. Sad but true, I'm a little on the absent minded side. Between working full time, writing, the kids, and everything else, the blog gets neglected. I do update it when I remember though.

Q: What is your day job?

A: I do tech support by phone.

Q: What's your favorite color?

A: Dark Green

Q: Favorite music?

A: Hard rock and Heavy Metal.

Q: Favorite Band/s?

A: Shinedown and Drowning Pool

Q: Favorite Quote?

A: I'm the guy who brought a knife to a nuke fight! A knife and not even a good knife, it's a fucking butterknife!
